How to Crop a video in Windows Movie Maker

You can crop photos, freeze frames, and video clips in movies to enlarge interesting topics, or delete unnecessary areas.

Cropping is also useful if your photos or video clips don't match the aspect ratio of a movie, and your video is converted from an old standard definition camera, and you want to mix with a high definition movie project. In this case, you can crop the photos or video clips to fit. 

Crop a  video clip or photo

1. In the timeline, select the clip or photo you want to crop.

2. To show the cropping controls, click the "Cropping" button.

3. Move and resize the frame until you’re satisfied with the result.

4. To apply the crop, click the "Return" button.

Use crop frame tool

In the cutting frame tool, we provide simple tools for cutting scale and cutting position, which is convenient for cutting.

Cropping ratio: 16: 9, 4: 3, 1: 1, 9:16. With the cushion, you can set the height of the clipping frame.

Cropping  position: Clipping position can help you to accurately locate the clipping box in the video.
